How to Use AI to Land Your Next Job in 2025

Generative AI is reshaping how businesses operate, and agentic AI—systems capable of autonomous decision-making, adapting in real-time, and solving complex problems—has fueled even greater adoption, as stated in Fintech Futures. According to Gartner, by 2028, at least 15% of day-to-day decisions will be made autonomously through agentic AI, a sharp rise from zero percent in 2023.

From automating routine tasks to generating ideas or drafting emails and reports, AI tools are proving invaluable to employees and organizations alike. Yet, despite these advancements, many businesses are unprepared for AI’s full integration. According to The State of AI at Work report by Asana and Anthropic, “AI has reached a tipping point, but most organisations aren’t ready for it.”

A survey of over 5,000 knowledge workers in the UK and the US revealed that while AI tools are increasingly embedded in workflows, many organizations lack the readiness to fully harness their potential.

An emerging trend, “Bring Your Own AI” (BYOAI), sees employees leveraging assistive tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, or Gemini to simplify tasks such as document drafting, meeting summaries, and video call transcription.

For software and fintech professionals, tools like GitHub Copilot and IntelliCode enhance productivity by suggesting code snippets, generating boilerplate code, or even identifying and fixing bugs. AI can also assist in generating technical documentation and API instructions, revolutionizing the developer’s toolkit.

AI isn’t just transforming workplaces; it’s also reshaping how individuals search for jobs. Some job seekers have used AI bots to automate applications, with one Reddit user reportedly securing 50 interviews in a single month by applying to 1,000 roles via an AI bot.

Platforms like FinTech Futures’ Robin AI provide job seekers with tailored opportunities by matching their CVs to ideal roles. Acting as a virtual recruiter, Robin can also offer insights into company culture, compensation, and benefits, streamlining the decision-making process.

Beyond matching candidates to jobs, AI tools like Perplexity and ChatGPT can refine CVs, compare them to job descriptions, and suggest improvements. For crafting professional messages or cover letters, tools such as Claude assist in composing compelling content tailored to specific roles.

AI doesn’t stop at applications—it can help prepare for interviews by generating role-specific sample questions, providing insights into company backgrounds, or brushing up on industry terminology. For technical positions, AI can simulate mock interviews and assess readiness for the real thing.

Generative AI has the power to simplify the job-hunting process, enabling candidates to stand out in competitive markets. By integrating these tools into every stage—from application to interview preparation—job seekers can maximize their chances of success in 2025 and beyond.
