BBVA Partners with OpenAI to Deploy ChatGPT for Employees
Spanish banking group BBVA is enhancing its use of artificial intelligence through a partnership with OpenAI, aimed at deploying ChatGPT to thousands of its employees, according to Finextra News. This makes BBVA the first European bank to collaborate with OpenAI, launching 3000 ChatGPT Enterprise licenses to increase productivity and efficiency while fostering innovation.
As part of the deal, OpenAI will provide training and updates for its large language models, the foundation of ChatGPT. BBVA aims to leverage this partnership to drive successful AI use cases, starting with its central services in Spain and eventually expanding to other key regions. Each new account will undergo mandatory training to ensure all departments and employees can collaborate effectively using ChatGPT.
BBVA recently organized a generative AI ‘DataRally’ to identify and train internal talent in using large language models like ChatGPT. Ricardo Martín Manjón, BBVA’s global head of data, emphasized the transformative potential of generative AI, stating, «We believe that generative AI, when used safely and responsibly, is a game-changer in how we support our customers in their decisions and offer personalized services. It also happens to stimulate creativity among our employees.»
Brad Lightcap, COO of OpenAI, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, saying, «We’re excited to partner with BBVA, one of Europe’s top banks, to deliver the capabilities of ChatGPT Enterprise at scale. AI streamlines mundane tasks, boosting creativity, efficiency, and productivity.»
