Affirm Becomes First Buy Now, Pay Later Provider on Amazon Pay in the US

According to Finextra, Affirm, a leading buy now, pay later company, has partnered with Amazon Pay, marking its debut as the first provider in the US to join the platform.

Under this new collaboration, merchants using Amazon Pay in the United States now have the option to offer their customers the «buy now, pay later» feature using Affirm’s technology. The integration does not require merchants to separately integrate Affirm as a standalone installment option; they can simply add it to their existing Amazon Pay button.

Through Affirm’s Adaptive Checkout technology, the fintech company now provides consumers with customized payment options, including biweekly and monthly plans, for purchases over $50 with starting APRs of 0%. Customers who choose Affirm as their payment option through Amazon Pay will need to undergo an approval process that Affirm assures will not impact their credit scores.

Affirm has always emphasized its commitment to transparency and consumer-friendly terms, ensuring that customers using its technology «will never pay more than they agree to.» The company prides itself on the absence of late fees or hidden charges.

For consumers, this collaboration offers yet another avenue to manage their payments effectively. Amazon Pay simplifies the online shopping experience by enabling customers to connect their accounts with a single click, eliminating the need to repeatedly enter personal information and payment details. For retailers, this enhanced convenience is likely to lead to increased sales. Moreover, Affirm asserts that retailers offering Amazon Pay with Affirm will gain access to a new pool of shoppers.

This agreement signifies a further expansion of the existing relationship between Affirm and Amazon. Affirm’s services are already utilized by millions of customers in the US and Canada through Amazon.com and the Amazon app.

The integration of Affirm as a buy now, pay later provider on Amazon Pay will undoubtedly provide customers with more flexible payment options while offering merchants increased sales potential. The partnership solidifies the growing relationship between Affirm and Amazon, bringing greater convenience and financial flexibility to millions of online shoppers across North America.
